Traveling to Panama
by Jose Carlos
http://www.atpanama.com

Panama has a lot more going for it than the Panama Canal.
It's a fabulous place to vacation, offering some of the best
deep sea fishing in all of Central America, as well as great
reefs for snorkeling. You can find vacation package deals
that will take you to the best wildlife areas and see the
most gorgeous scenery! Panama is also a bird-watcher's
paradise. There are loads of beautifully colored birds of
many species.

Panama is home to seven indigenous peoples. Each has its own
heritage and culture. These loyal inhabitants proudly
celebrate their Spanish roots. No matter when you go, you're
sure to find festivals, often spontaneous, and loads of fun.

If you are an adventurer, there are lots of those in Panama
too. You can snorkel in the Caribbean Sea, swim in the
Pacific Ocean, ride rapids, and see all sorts of wildlife in
the nature parks. You will want to keep coming back for
more; there is so much to do. Some areas should be
experienced only with a professional guide. One of the best
is Dari~n National Park, which is wild and uninhabited.
There are a number of tour guide companies to pick from in
setting up your visit to this unique and wild park.

The dry season is the best time to visit Panama. This is
generally from mid-December to mid-April. The rainy season
produces more humidity than most people can tolerate. Also,
the rain comes down in short, sudden downpours that might
ruin any outdoor adventure. There are some wild areas that
you can reach only during the dry season. If you like
parties, plan to be in Panama during carnival season.
Sometime around Ash Wednesday is when you'll want to arrive.

Among the other attractions that you won't want to miss, are
the Panama Canal, the Summit Botanical Gardens and Zoo, and
the Parque Nacional Metropolitana. One trip to Panama is all
it takes to keep you coming back for more.
