Montana has much to offer those who love the great
outdoors. There are snowy mountain peaks, and wild rides
on the rivers. Hunting, fishing, and camping opportunities
are plentiful. Here is a sampling of some of the more
popular attarctions.

Whitewater rafting and kayaking are popular in Montana.
Float trips are available for a variety of skill levels
including some that are only for those with plenty of
whitewater rafting experience. Touring Montana from the
water offers you a chance to see Montana at it~s
most beautiful from the unique vantage point of its
rivers. If you are not an experienced paddler, seek the
services of a qualified guide, and stick to calmer waters.

Cyclists will find miles of road and trail for their
pleasure. Adventure Cycling, which makes its home in
Montana and is the country's largest recreational cycling
association, can assist you with tour selection and
finding an appropriate guide if you wish.

Anglers and hunters especially like the Montana outdoors.
Numerous rivers and streams offer abundant fly-fishing
opportunities. Hunters have their choice of game here:
Elk, moose, big horn sheep, antelope, bear, and more. Just
remember to get all of the proper permits if you plan to
hunt or fish here.

You don't need a license just to watch the wildlife,
though. Two national parks, 40 state parks, 12 national
wilderness areas, and over 17 million acres provided you
with virtually unlimited opportunities for hiking,
camping, and photography. Over one-third of Montana's
area is public land set aside for you and your loved ones
to enjoy.
